Oh yes, until they become too mean like Apple someday. They're really quite brave (or fools) with all their implementations of innovations here but at least they seemed determined about it. I basically respect them for this unfolding phone they showed us all for real, where we somewhat got some real ideas about what the future phones might look like. I really hope Galaxy Fold retails soon even though I am not gonna buy their first two iterations of folding phones for sure!

To me it looks more like some tiny internal metal part breaking loose off the mainframe accidentally: just beneath that ever so soft screen! Also it could very possibly be a lump on the battery (just saying). I own an S9 plus here in India because I have loved Samsung since the day they brought their folding tech into play with the 'note edge' and they have just improved over time at it. I think they really should provide their snapdragon version of flagships globally. I skipped the S10 SOLELY for this reason, and might as well buy the OP7 pro. We're paying full bucks afterall so indeed we want full value as well. I feel somewhat like 'underprivileged for no reason bcz I am somewhat forced to use exynos over snapdragon and Lew I absolutely love the way you speak out to us, great job man, keep it up!

My question is, why is there a notch on the big screen... there's no need for a notch. And if the ne galaxy note 10 is going to have in screen fingerprint scanner, then this should also. Flagship means It should have latest tech, and it's a luxury. Complaining about the cost in a luxury item is like saying millionaires should have to share their wealth just because others are poor.

There’s nothing more satisfying then to pull the plastic covering off the screen of a new phone. That’s the first thing 99% of consumers do when they get a new phone. It’s not consumer error if the company doesn’t tell us not to take that film off. Unless they state it from the start every regular person will pull that film off and BAM dead screen. But that’s just my two cents

  • superkallefrageliste

Buying a device that is kinda cool, but generally extremely fragile, like EXTREMLY. I mean no matter the tech, if I stuff that phone into my pockets and ANYTHING could potentially break it, not scratch ... no straight up kill it. The other thing, I personally don't stand the feeling of that protective layer that has to cover the screen to keep it "save?", and that is a glued on layer... with time 100% wear off If you use the phone. AND THE FACT THAT YOU CAN EASYLIE STRIPP OFF A PIECE OF CHEAP LAYER AND IT ALL BREAKS .... common seriously? The price tag, the feel of the screen, the extreme fragile ness of the screen/hinge thing, not closing flat (looks so stupid once its folded because our the gap on the hinge side) .... far from being a finished product. Not worth the money if you want a device that is designed to be used IRL and not in a lab.......

How much is Samsung paying you to deliver this easy going blaming it on the clay stuff. It costs 2000 dollars, if clay can enter the cogs. Dust certainly will, and it shall rape this device within weeks. Be more critical and give advise as you did in the past. This is not yet ready for consumer market. Only thing that’s a step forward is the folding screen. All the rest is several steps backwards. Good thing Samsung is delaying the launch to address these issues. I really wanted to buy this, but I’m really sceptical now.

There is no statement from Samsung on the broken Fold that may have had clay work its way inside, and until they do, I don't believe it's clay in there. I think it's something like a small piece of rock or lint from a pocket.
One way or another tho, the fact that it's literally so easy for something to get inside of the hinge mechanism, rendering the device essentially useless, is EXTREMELY alarming to me.

  • Christopher Smith
    Christopher Smith 3 mesi fa

The problem is without being able to put a case over the hinge due to the design, that issue with dirt, pebbles, lint, anything, getting stuck to the back and working its way to BEHIND THE DARN SCREEN absolutely will be a prevalent issue over time. It happened within a couple days with the Verge's unit. Yeah we aren't using clay but there is just no way to protect this thing and you cannot expect every person who buys this phone to baby it to the point that you have to thoroughly wipe off the hinge before opening it each time you take it out of your pocket. It just seems nuts that Samsung couldn't come up with a better hinge design than allowing you to get direct access to behind the screen through the hinge. That is insane to me.
